As an art director from a Netflix premiere event, one of the actions relied on the development of an illustration to portray a man that lived in the countryside of Brazilian’s northeast, a “vigilant from Sertão”.
Since this region is strongly connected to Cordel (a very typical Brazilian woodcut style to tell stories), the character “killer” was illustrated taking that as a reference of style.
It’s nice to mention that one of the people responsible for the event, born in one of the places where Cordel is essential, at the end praised these hallway illustrations and how they were able to come very close to the typical and original technique.
