Goal

Dark themes are a common choice for many game UIs, particularly in action and RPG genres and it can feel repetitive and lack originality. However, lighter styles are also used in casual or family-friendly games, thinking about that I decided to bring a lighter theme for this survival/multiplayer action game I created for this UI project. For the game concept players control dinosaurs in an open-world adventure, the UI needed to stand out with a fresh and inviting approach. To reflect the dynamic and playful nature of the game, I designed clean, modern screens with a light aesthetic that balances functionality and creativity, offering an intuitive and approachable experience for players.

Result

To meet these needs, I created a series of four screens: Ability Screen: Highlighting the skill purchase flow with a layout that balances clarity and accessibility. Battle Pass: A comprehensive section showcasing season details, challenges, and rules, with a clean structure for easy navigation. The light-themed design emphasizes readability and usability, ensuring that players can focus on gameplay without distractions. By maintaining a consistent visual identity, I was able to retain the playful spirit of a dinosaur-themed game while keeping the interface fresh and functional.

The key to these designs was creating a modern and clean UI that balances usability and style, all while preserving the adventurous and playful essence of the dino theme. From a UX perspective, the layouts were carefully structured to guide players through flows, like purchasing abilities or navigating the Battle Pass, with ease. I focused on reducing friction, ensuring that every interaction felt intuitive and enjoyable. For the visuals, the light and dark color palette and subtle details help the game stand out, steering away from the typical dark-mode style of many games. This approach highlights the diversity in my design capabilities, showing how UI can adapt to different tones and audiences.
